ALPHA Bahamas

The Alpha course began in the Anglican Diocese of The Bahamas in 1998 and we successfully hosted the Alpha West Indies Conferfence in 1999.  At that conference representatives from various denominations attended and concluded that Alpha is a wonderful programme.

Since the launching of Diocese 2000 & Beyond and the movement into Mission & Ministry we find that Alpha is still a useful tool for Evangelism, Christian Eucation & Formation, Youth and Pastoral Care, Social Outreach & Action.

As a Social Outreach ministry, the Alpha for Prisons Ministry continues in both the male and female sections of our prison. Persons interested in this ministry should contact the Alpha Prison Ministry Director, Mr. Reg Grant [his contact is below].

Youth Alpha ministry began in January 2008 under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Theadore Hunt and involved several Anglican parish churches which attracted youth from other denominations. We are hopeful that the ministry will spread to other churches in the not too distant future.

Under the ministry of Pastoral Care, the Family Life component of Alpha [Parenting Course] concluded as scheduled on 0th March. The next session is being planned for 28th September - 16th November 2009 and the venue is tentatively All Saints Parish.  Persons interested in doing the course should contact the mailto:laycoordinator@yahoo.com for further information.
